ABOUNDING
Solid-Core Values
Character Education Through Active Music, Stories & Drama
Rich Rubietta writes and performs upbeat pop music about inspiring heroes and heroines,
offering character education through his music assemblies. With keyboard and guitar, he harnesses the
appeal of hip-hop and dance music, creating art with a message that shapes positive values and attitudes toward
self and others. A music educator and producer with a music degree from Northwestern University and 20 years
of up-front experience, this singer-songwriter performs music in various settings that both captivates and
beckons the audience. Music assemblies are crafted so that song selection can reinforce a school's identified
core values.
Classroom Discussion Guide
The Classroom Discussion Guide is a companion to the Room 4U and Me CD. The guide gives discussion questions
which complement the songs on the CD. The discussion is guided to develop the issues brought up on the CD.
Creative Song-Writing Residency option
Play Shops or Residencies develop creative writing skills as students learn how to create songs from
life experience and inspirational stories. Students use Life experience and historical figures
for raw material, so Playshops cross disciplines: History, Creative Writing and Music. Song-writing secrets are shared and students can perform
for each other and/or families at an “Open Mic” opportunity.
Singing, laughing and dancing together strengthens a sense of community and enhances self esteem. We may not change the world in a 1-hour Assembly, but if an attitude about relationships changes, we are on the road to a better future.
