ABOUNDING
Jane’s first published article appeared in Today's Christian Woman in 1993. “Far and Away” dealt with the trauma of moving, and evidently moved a number of people, including a Mothers of Preschoolers group, who called and invited Jane to speak at their meeting. From there, the group took her speaking information, made copies, and passed them out at their MOPS Council meeting. Soon coordinators for both MOPS groups and other women's groups began to call, inquiring about her speaking ministry.
Jane has since spoken in hundreds of MOPS groups around the country, and in Oct. 2003 was part of the MOPS International Convention in Minneapolis, MN, where she delivered two seminars on “Letting God Restore Your Soul,” as well as a speaker round-table discussion.
“MOPS is a terrific organization,” Jane says. “Parenting can be such an isolating experience, and when we feel alone for too long, our souls begin to whither, we doubt our effectiveness and wisdom, and really need people to befriend us in that journey. MOPS breaks the silence about the difficulties of parenting and offers both companionship and mentoring through its presenters and its Mentor Moms. It's one of my favorite places to be, encouraging women in one of the most important roles of their lives: shaping children.”
"You are an amazing woman that God is using for wonderful things. Not only were you the number one speaker according to the other Moms, you really influenced my life. At the time I was very confused what to do in my life…something was missing. I kept praying to God to give me some work I could do for him…
"Then you came to speak and talked about the different groups of women in your life. Some from a different "community" than your church. Also, you talked about how we need to take care of ourselves so we can take care of our family. That changed my life…I opened my world more and now have a meaningful and happier life. Sorry this is so long but I just felt led to let you know how you influenced my life for the better."
